European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) publishes study on decarboxylation of tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) to active THC

The background of the study is that hemp foods contain on average up to 90% of the non-psychoactive THCA. Nevertheless, regulations for THC limits in foods often use the total THC = THCA + THC. This leads to an overestimation of the content of psychoactive THC in hemp foods. The argument put forward is that THCA can be converted to THC by heating (decarboxylation). This study analyzes how relevant the conversion is in realistic scenarios.
